Glucophage XR is a medication used to treat type 2 diabetes. It helps reduce blood sugar levels in people with type 2 diabetes.
Do not take Metformin if you are allergic to it, or to metformin hydrochloride, sulfonylureas, or tolistopatide, a drug used to treat type 2 diabetes (high blood sugar).
Tell your doctor if you have had a heart attack, or if you have high blood pressure, heart failure, or liver disease or if you have ever had an allergic reaction to any other medications. You may have a rare allergic reaction to metformin, sulfonylureas, or tolistopatide.
